Amee Byers is the owner of Shanti Salon which opened in April 2013. She wanted to create something Flagstaff has never had before; a single studio salon that evokes a peaceful, relaxing and welcoming space for clients.
After graduating high school, Amee chose Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy in Phoenix for her formal training in cosmetology, learning all the latest styles from the experts themselves.
Upon graduation, she went to work at a Toni and Guy support salon in Scottsdale, Hair Stalgia, assisting the owner Don Shook. During this time, Amee also attended the Skin and Make-up Institute in Scottsdale completing their Aesthetics Program and their Make-up Artistry Program where she studied all facets of make-up from day beauty to fantasy.
In 2006, Amee moved up to Flagstaff to enjoy its beautiful environment and start her new career. She worked at Aveda Red OTS in historic downtown Flagstaff and was soon promoted to manager of the salon, and held that position for over a year. With a strong desire to be her own boss she joined the About Hair and More team. She also worked for Salon Bloom who won Best of Flagstaff 2012 while she worked there.
Amee became a mother to her son Cohen in July 2013 and loves being able to be home with him when she is not behind the chair. She is also co-captain of her and her husband’s business, the Thomas Byers Guitar Studio. When not at home with Cohen, at the salon or guitar studio you may find her in the woods taking a nice hike, sitting by the creek, laughing with friend’s downtown, making glitter art or at the yoga studio.
She can’t wait to meet you and, remember . . .
No matter how life is today, don’t let another moment slip away.
